Wonky Fruit Recipes: Easy (vegan!) Berry Smoothie
Posted on 31 Jul 2021
We offer our wonky, second-class fruit in trays weighing approximately 2 kilograms, and they are perfect for packing and freezing for smoothies. We used to make and sell them ourselves when we first opened, do you remember?
This recipe is quick and easy, and only consists of a few simple ingredients: bananas, milk (or your favourite non-dairy alternative), and your berries! We have second class strawberries and raspberries available, but we recommend that you also add our blackberries and blueberries too.
Fancy something a little more filling? Add a berry or vanilla flavoured protein powder, and/or a handful of oats!
[Serves 2]
- 2 medium bananas, sliced.
- 240ml milk (non-dairy alternative)
- 240g frozen strawberries
- 240g frozen raspberries
- 240g blueberries and/or blackberries
- Optional 1 - 2 scoops of protein powder
- Optional 240g oats
You will need:
- Two large glasses
- A blender or food processor.
- A spatula or large spoon.
Step 1) Add the bananas and your choice of milk into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. If you are adding protein powder and/or oats to this recipe add them to this mixture too! Scrape down the sides of the blender with your spatula or large spoon as needed.
Step 2) Add your frozen strawberries and raspberries and blend again until smooth; if the smoothie has a thicker consistency than you would like, add some water or milk and blend again.
Step 3) Pour into your glasses and enjoy!
